Word has it that only the breavest of the brave can seek the artifact that can do anything the user wishes. Determined to find out why, he finds out that his father, Doom is up to black magic. Having no choice, Shadow is sucked into a weird portal of nothing, and finds himself 1200 years in the past. Shadow then realizews he had just gotten sucked into the past.
Shadow then looked beind him to see DOZENS of ships loading onto the docks, leading people away from the docks. He was in a village.but it wasn't a present village. Shadow jumps up quickly as he staggers backwards, looking all around him. "Fine." Shadow responds, but when he looked at the man, he realized he wasn't where he thought he was. Shadow then struggles to breath as the sunshine burned his eyes in the awakening. Shadow then hears voices, and opens his eyes, seeing the white and blue cloudy sky. Shadow screams as he falls into nothing, white every around him. The player controls Shadow in an attempt to free himself, but cannot as he is sucked into white space. Knuckles grabs a hold of Shadow, but fails as he is sucked in too. Doom laughs as Sonic and Tails are sucked into the space, falling endlessly. In the process, Shadow falls, and looks back to see the ground turning into nothing. The ground then begins to shift as Shadow tries to run. Shadow falls to the ground in shock as he tries to figure out what's happening. Shadow looks at the figure's face, and freezes in shock. Having had enough, Shadow leaps from the ground to destroy the figure, but the figure finally reveals a face, and looks at Shadow. The trees then go up in a blazing heat as a wave eurupts throughout the island, burning the grass and injuring Team Sonic. Shadow regains his strength, and realizes every single tree in the forest is orbiting around the black figure. The black figure is heard laughing as the trees begin to get ripped out of the ground. The player controls Shadow again, trying to get to the black figure, but fails as Shadow staggers to the ground. After reaching the figure, Shadow reaches out with his hand to grab it, but the figure throws him into a tree, injuring him manjorly. The player then controls Shadow as he chases the figure through the forest, hopping over crashing logs, lilypadded lakes, and an underground sewage system. The figure seems to let out the deepest laugh Shadow has heard, and depats back into the forest. The player then moves Shadow towards the trees, where a giant black mist eurupts, streaking the trees, and throwing Shadow to the Ground. After the heartfelt goodbye, Shadow departs from Team Sonic, but not more then 5 minutes after, he spots a dark figure in the trees.
